Drug Crimes Thwarted in Khorezm and Namangan Regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Officers from the State Security Service, internal affairs agencies, and the customs service uncovered two instances of illegal drug trafficking in the Khorezm and Namangan regions as part of the "Safe and Healthy Country" operational and preventive measures.
In the Urgench district of the Khorezm region, law enforcement officers detained a previously convicted resident born in 2000 upon receiving a parcel delivered by taxi from the Russian Federation.
During the inspection, officers established that the shipment contained ten packages of chocolate concealing a total of 967 grams of hashish. The narcotic substance was seized and attached to the case materials as physical evidence.
Another incident was uncovered in the Yangikurgan district of the Namangan region. According to the investigation, a local resident born in 1988 was cultivating 423 cannabis plants on his land plot for subsequent sale.
All discovered plants were seized and documented in accordance with established procedural rules.
Criminal cases have been opened regarding both incidents, and investigative proceedings are currently underway.
