Japan Deports Two Uzbek Citizens for Visa Violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Japan’s Immigration Services Agency deported two Uzbek citizens who had been staying illegally in the country, the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan said.

One of the deported individuals entered Japan under a technical intern visa and remained in the country after the visa expired, after which he was detained by authorities. The second person entered Japan on a short-term visa and also stayed illegally after its expiration before being detained.

The embassy reminded citizens that strict measures are applied in cases of illegal stay or unauthorized employment, including detention and arrest by police, placement in an immigration detention center and deportation. The Japanese government provides information about violators to the government of Uzbekistan, and relevant measures may be taken after their return to the country. The embassy urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid offers of illegal employment in Japan.

The statement also rejected a widespread misconception that applying for refugee status in Japan allows applicants to remain in the country for an extended period or work. Submitting an application for this purpose is not permitted: if refugee status is denied, applicants may be placed in an immigration detention center or deported. Providing false information or using fraudulent schemes when applying may result in serious legal consequences.
