Tashkent Plans Expansion of Green Zones and Parks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva said that the development of green zones and public spaces in Tashkent needs to be accelerated.
According to her, the capital is actively developing, but the city lacks sufficient green areas. Therefore, the creation of new parks and expansion of landscaping zones has become one of the key priorities.
Saida Mirziyoyeva visited several urban sites, where she discussed plans for their development and improving convenience for residents. In particular, the park on Afrosiyob Street was reviewed, with plans to make it accessible to all residents.
The discussions also covered projects to renovate Sayilgoh Street, Amir Temur Avenue and surrounding areas, as well as the expansion of Babur Ecopark and Mirzo Ulugbek Park.
“The main priority is to restore the status of the capital as a green city and create as many spaces as possible for people, for active recreation and walks,” Saida Mirziyoyeva said.
She emphasized the importance of further developing an accessible urban environment, expanding greenery, improving safety and making effective use of existing infrastructure.
According to the Head of the Presidential Administration, work in this area should continue immediately to ensure a high quality of life for residents of the capital.
