Over 677,000 Apply to Uzbekistan Universities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Online registration for admission to higher and vocational education institutions in Uzbekistan for the 2026/2027 academic year has concluded, with a total of 677,907 applicants submitting applications.

Of the total, 451,744 applicants, or 66.6%, are graduates of the current academic year, while 226,163 applicants, or 33.4%, completed their studies in previous years.

Women account for 365,196 applicants, or 53.9% of the total, while 312,711 applicants, or 46.1%, are men.

A total of 664,609 applicants will sit entrance examinations. Another 36,500 applicants selected programmes requiring creative entrance examinations, while 10,581 applied to higher military educational institutions.

During the registration process, 24,526 international certificates were verified. In addition, 193,186 applicants registered with national or international certificates in general education subjects, while 125,354 submitted foreign language certificates.

A total of 12,997 applicants holding national or international certificates covering all required subjects are fully exempt from entrance examinations and will proceed directly to the admissions competition.

A total of 64 large examination venues have been prepared for the admissions campaign. They will be able to accommodate 35,490 applicants per session, or 70,980 applicants each day.

The entrance examinations will be conducted over a period of 10 days.
