Mirziyoyev Honors Foreign Citizens and Compatriots Abroad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding state honors to foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad in connection with the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, under a decree signed on 22 August 2026.
According to the decree, the awards were granted for contributions to economic reforms, strengthening multilateral cooperation across priority sectors, supporting socio-economic transformations, and participating in major investment and infrastructure projects. The honors also recognize efforts to enhance Uzbekistan's international profile and promote international partnership.
The Order of Dustlik was awarded to Ivan Sao, deputy general director of the European sales division at BYD Auto; Claude Imauven, chairman of the France-Uzbekistan Business Council at MEDEF International; Masayoshi Fujimoto, director of Sojitz Corporation; Sabine Machl, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan; and Sinan Turaman, chairman of the supervisory board of Outdoor Factory Toshkent LLC in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent.
The Order of Salomatlik II Class was awarded to Nilufar Kakharova, project manager at Boston Children's Hospital at Harvard University in the United States, and Nodira Yuldasheva, founder of the Association of Uzbekistanis in Canada and head of the Sog'lom Yo'l medical and diagnostic center in Toronto.
The Shukhrat Medal was awarded to Shakhlo Abdullayeva, head of the Center for the Protection of Rights and Education of Migrant Women in Gwangju, Republic of Korea.
