Russia and Uzbekistan Sign Trade Union Tourism Cooperation Agreement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) and the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in the field of tourism.
The document provides for the development of joint health resort and leisure programs, as well as the expansion of organized travel flows between the two nations, the FNPR reported.
The agreement aims to leverage the organizational networks of Russian and Uzbek trade unions to build structured tourism exchanges. Under the agreement, the parties plan to design specialized travel packages tailored for trade union members and their families.
Key areas of cooperation include family travel, youth programs, health resort and wellness stays, medical tourism, and cultural-historical excursions.
The health resort association of the FNPR, Profkurort, will serve as the official travel organizer on the Russian side.
Andrei Titov, Deputy Chairman of the FNPR, stated that the agreement aims to establish enhanced access to wellness, leisure, and cultural experiences for union members.
"For us, it is fundamentally important to create additional opportunities for quality recreation, health improvement, and cultural development for trade union members and their families. Uzbekistan and Russia possess significant potential in the field of health resort, family, and cultural tourism," Titov said.
He added that the framework opens new opportunities for workers, youth, and labor veterans, establishing a foundation for expanded cross-border travel partnerships between relevant sector organizations.
