Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Presidential Administration head Saida Mirziyoyeva described Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Uzbekistan with his family as an important milestone in relations between the two countries, she said in a comment.
According to Mirziyoyeva, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have special ties that are reflected both at the state level and in relations between their peoples.
She noted the shared history, culture and traditions of the two countries, adding that new joint projects in various areas, ranging from infrastructure to investment, are now strengthening these ties.
“This visit has become another important page in our relations,” Mirziyoyeva said.
During the visit, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan signed a Treaty on Eternal Friendship. Mirziyoyeva said she believed the title of the document accurately reflected the nature of relations between the two countries.
