Uzbekistan Reviews Measures to Develop Circus Arts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has discussed proposals for the further development of circus arts and the live entertainment genre as part of measures outlined in a presidential decree on advancing the country's culture, arts and literature sectors.
Participants said the discussions were based on initiatives proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting with representatives of the culture, arts and literature sectors on 1 June 2026. Those initiatives were followed by Presidential Decree No. PF-103, "On Large-Scale Measures for the Further Development of the Culture, Arts and Literature Sectors," signed on 2 June.
The decree provides for the establishment of several creative associations to support culture and the arts, foster creative potential and promote the development of national art forms. Among them is the Creative Association of Circus Arts and Live Entertainment.
As part of implementing the decree, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov met with representatives of the newly established association.
The meeting was also attended by Karim Zaripov, director of the Karim Zaripov Republican Higher School of Variety and Circus Arts, and Miraziz Yakubov, deputy director of the Uzbek State Circus.
Participants discussed the further development of circus arts and live entertainment, expanding private sector participation, addressing challenges facing the industry and implementing proposals put forward by representatives of the professional community.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants agreed to prepare concrete measures aimed at putting forward initiatives for the practical development of circus arts in Uzbekistan.
