Engaged Couple Dies of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Angren

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A man and a woman preparing for their wedding died in Angren, Tashkent region, in a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning incident.

The city prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the matter.

According to a report by Millar, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region received a report from an Angren resident at approximately 23:53 on 16 July 2026.

She reported that her 26-year-old sister and 31-year-old fiancé had left home in a car and had not returned.

The bodies of the man and woman were later discovered inside a Gentra automobile parked in a garage.

According to preliminary forensic medical examination results, the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning accompanied by cerebral edema, pulmonary edema, and acute cardiovascular failure.

The city prosecutor's office is currently conducting a pre-investigation check into the incident.
