Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent has been selected to host the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) Conference, Asian Awards, and General Assembly in 2027, the organization announced on Thursday.

It marks the first time Uzbekistan will stage the events, which are scheduled to take place in November or December 2027.

The decision followed a competitive selection process featuring bids from five Asian national Paralympic committees. Tashkent secured the host status after receiving majority support from voting members of the APC Executive Board and standing committee chairpersons.

The gathering is expected to bring together delegates from 45 Asian national Paralympic committees, APC Executive Board members, standing committee representatives, athletes, international sports federations, Games organizing committees, and international sports organizations.

The program will begin with the APC Conference, featuring presentations, discussions, and practical workshops on key development issues within the Asian Paralympic movement. The General Assembly will follow, allowing participants to address organizational and strategic matters and outline future directions for Para sports in the region.

The APC Asian Awards will also take place in the capital, honoring outstanding achievements and contributions to the Asian Paralympic movement since the previous ceremony.

APC President Majid Rashed congratulated Uzbekistan on winning the selection process, noting that the events will offer the Asian Paralympic community an opportunity to share knowledge and discuss priorities for further sports development across the continent.

Mukhtorkhon Tashkodjaev, president of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan and vice president of the APC, called the selection a great honor for the country and its capital, expressing gratitude to the Asian Paralympic Committee for its trust.

The previous APC Conference and General Assembly were held in Astana in 2025, drawing delegates from more than 40 national Paralympic committees alongside regional partners and international observers.
