Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An exhibition showcasing traditional crafts from Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region will be held in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 12 to 16 October under the title “Pearl of the Silk Road: Uzbekistan’s Living Heritage”.
The event is being organised at the initiative of the Ferghana regional administration.
The exhibition will introduce visitors to Rishtan’s pottery-making traditions, atlas and adras textile production in Margilan, and wood carving from Kokand.
In addition to displaying finished products, artisans will demonstrate how traditional handicrafts are made and conduct masterclasses.
The exhibition aims to promote the cultural heritage of the Ferghana region abroad, raise interest in Uzbekistan’s traditional crafts and strengthen cultural ties between Uzbekistan and the United States.
