NGMK Produces 1.51 Million Ounces of Gold in H1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company JSC (NGMK) produced 1.5088 million troy ounces of gold and generated 86.2 trillion soums worth of output in the first half of 2026, according to an NGMK press release issued on 14 July 2026.

During the first six months of the year, the company utilized US$236.8 million under its investment program and created 1,008 new jobs.

Under its localization program, NGMK manufactured products valued at 808.7 billion soums, while purchasing approximately 4.2 trillion soums worth of goods through intersectoral industrial cooperation.

Developing the Muruntau deposit remains one of the company's key investment priorities. As part of Phase II of the fifth stage of the Muruntau open-pit mine development project, more than 96 million cubic meters of rock mass were mined between January and July.

Modern mining dump trucks and other heavy equipment were delivered to the Motor Transport Department of the Central Mining Administration.

Construction of in-pit crushing and conveying system conveyor lines and equipment installation also continue at the open pit.

Phase III of the ore mining project at the Kokpatas and Daugyztau gold deposits is currently underway. Construction and installation work on a tailings storage facility continues at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 3 (GMZ-3). Electric excavators with a bucket capacity of 10 cubic meters, a motor grader, and front-end loaders were delivered to the Daugyztau and Vostochny mines between January and July.

A project to expand processing capacity is being implemented at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 7 (GMZ-7). Construction and installation work in the ore preparation and screening sections was completed this year.

Work continues in the thickening and desorption shops, alongside the construction of power supply networks. Plans also include expanding the mechanical repair shop and chemical reagent warehouse, as well as constructing an administrative building and utility lines.

Modernization and technical upgrades aimed at expanding ore processing capacity and increasing precious metal production continue at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 2 (GMZ-2). Following the launch of additional mill blocks No. 34 and No. 35, the number of operational grinding mills reached 82.

Significant earthworks are being carried out under the project to expand and reconstruct the GMZ-2 tailings facility for joint waste storage from GMZ-2 and GMZ-7.

In particular, new waste storage capacity is being built, dumps are being raised to various elevations, water intake facilities are under construction, and a 21-kilometer slurry pipeline is being installed.
