Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of Nukus Insulation Group in Nukus, which produces modern thermal insulation materials from locally sourced basalt raw materials.

The press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported this.

The project was implemented under the presidential resolution of 9 February 2024 “On Additional Measures for Comprehensive Socio-Economic Development and Ensuring Employment in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.”

The project is worth US$50 million. The enterprise has been equipped with modern European-made machinery, allowing it to produce materials from local raw materials in line with international standards.

The plant has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of thermal insulation materials. The value of the products manufactured is estimated at 300 billion soums. The enterprise has created 150 new jobs.

Basalt thermal insulation materials are fire-resistant, provide thermal insulation and have a long service life. Their use in construction helps improve the energy efficiency of buildings and structures while reducing heating and cooling costs.

The head of state reviewed the production process and manufactured products and spoke with the enterprise’s employees.

During the visit, the hokims of the regions assigned to districts of Karakalpakstan reported on the work carried out.

The President stressed the need to further expand the scale of support and improvement efforts in the assigned districts.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening ties and industrial cooperation between regions, jointly using available opportunities and increasing the number of projects aimed at boosting employment and household incomes.
