Chinese Investors to Launch Tourism Projects in Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Authorities in the Ferghana region and Chinese business representatives have discussed the implementation of major investment projects in the tourism sector, including the creation of a modern zoo and the development of regional tourism infrastructure.

The prospects for cooperation were reviewed at the reception house of the Ferghana district during a meeting between the Governor of the Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, and a delegation led by Ji Xiaodong, Chairman of the China Chamber of Tourism of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

The two sides discussed the progress of implementing agreements reached during previous negotiations, as well as projects planned for implementation in the Ferghana region involving Chinese investments.

It was noted that cooperation is developing on the basis of mutual benefit, and the investment climate created in the region is drawing growing interest from Chinese entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, the concept for the construction of a large, modern zoo meeting international requirements and modern standards was presented. Participants received detailed information about the planned infrastructure of the facility and its significance for the development of the region's tourism potential.

Particular attention was given to the development prospects of the Shakhimardan and Yardan tourism areas in the Ferghana district. The sides discussed the possibility of establishing a tourism-focused free economic zone there.

The negotiation participants also reviewed projects in the fields of logistics and construction materials production, alongside proposals to improve existing tourism initiatives. Measures to increase the economic efficiency and investment attractiveness of the projects using Chinese experience were discussed.

According to the meeting participants, the dynamically developing cooperation with neighboring Kyrgyzstan is an important factor for the successful implementation of the planned initiatives.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on the further development of cooperation and the implementation of large-scale, comprehensive investment projects. The Governor of the Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, confirmed the readiness of the regional authorities to provide comprehensive support for the proposed initiatives.
