Yandex GO occupies a dominant position in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Committee on Competition and Consumer Protection of Uzbekistan announced the recognition of Yandex GO UB as a dominant participant in the taxi aggregator market. The company’s market share is 86.3%.

The study included 66 companies and found that several of them, including Yandex GO, provide the bulk of services, which poses a risk of a one-sided impact on prices and quality.

Given the above, under competition law, the Competition Committee on 4 December recognized Yandex Go UB as the dominant participant in the taxi aggregator market.

In September, the tax committee demanded that Ridetech International, a company registered in the Netherlands, which represents the Yandex Go application, become a tax resident of Uzbekistan.

From 1 December, Yandex Go localized its activities and became a tax resident.
