Video surveillance system on Tashkent roads starts work in test regime

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A computerized system of road traffic management has been launched in the capital city of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Today newspaper reported quoting main inspector of road traffic safety department of Interior Affairs Ministry Mansur Rihsiyev that the system works in online regime, but the drivers are not receiving fines for violations.

He said that the system will begin its work once its supplier will receive the payment and the sides complete paper works. Now, the work on setting some parameters of the software is underway.

The computerized system will cover 120 large crossroads of Tashkent. Currently, the system works on 100 streets.

He noted that special video and photo surveillance signs will be installed to inform drivers.
