Foreign citizen detained with nearly 1 kg of mephedrone in Tashkent region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — In the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region, employees of the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs authorities thwarted an attempt to illicitly traffic synthetic drugs during the Safe and Healthy Country operational and preventive measures.
According to law enforcement agencies, a citizen of a Middle Eastern state, born in 1994, was detained. The investigation established that he had retrieved 970 grams of the synthetic narcotic substance mephedrone from a cache hidden in a field. The man was apprehended while attempting to flee the scene.
As part of further operational measures, law enforcement officers conducted a search of the apartment where the foreign national was temporarily residing in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent.
During the search, two electronic scales, thermal insulation tape, and other items were seized as material evidence.
Pre-investigation checks are currently underway regarding this fact.
