Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Alisher Usmanov has been dismissed as chairman of Uzbekistan's Presidential Security Service, Kun.uz reported.

Usmanov had headed the Presidential Security Service since December 2020.

Before taking up that position, he served as deputy chairman of Uzbekistan's State Security Service.

As of publication, no official information has been released regarding the reasons for the personnel decision or the appointment of a successor to lead the Presidential Security Service.
