Uzbekistan’s construction output rises 12.9% in seven months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The volume of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan reached 227,446.6 billion soums in January-July 2026, up 12.9% from the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Construction output has increased over the past five years. It amounted to 70,727.5 billion soums in January-July 2022, 81,294.8 billion soums in 2023, 94,283.4 billion soums in 2024 and 190,515.4 billion soums in 2025.

Tashkent city recorded the largest volume of construction work during the reporting period at 76,196.9 billion soums, with a growth rate of 109.2%. It was followed by Tashkent region with 21,080.7 billion soums, up 14.3%, and Ferghana region with 13,770.4 billion soums, up 19.5%.

Significant volumes were also recorded in Bukhara region at 12,674.6 billion soums, Samarkand region at 11,219.3 billion soums and Kashkadarya region at 11,066.4 billion soums.

The highest growth rates among the regions were recorded in Karakalpakstan, at 141.9%, and Samarkand region, at 138%. Tashkent city recorded the lowest growth rate at 109.2%.

By type of economic activity, construction of buildings and structures accounted for 68.3% of the total, or 155,287.7 billion soums, with a growth rate of 106.8%. Civil construction accounted for 19.9%, or 45,181.6 billion soums, rising 22.3%. Specialized construction work made up 11.8%, or 26,977.3 billion soums, increasing 41.2%.

Large construction organizations carried out building and structure construction worth 36,358.8 billion soums, with a growth rate of 108.9%. Their civil construction work amounted to 14,787.8 billion soums, up 31.3%, while specialized construction work reached 5,720.8 billion soums, rising 34.9%.

Small businesses and microfirms carried out building and structure construction worth 74,584.1 billion soums, an increase of 6.1%. Their civil construction work amounted to 30,382 billion soums, up 18.4%, while specialized construction work reached 21,256.5 billion soums, rising 42.9%.

Households accounted for 44,344.8 billion soums in building and structure construction, up 6.3%. Their civil construction work amounted to 11.8 billion soums, increasing 4.8-fold.

Overall, small businesses and microfirms accounted for 55.5% of total construction output. Their work amounted to 126,222.6 billion soums at current prices, with a growth rate of 113.9%.

Large construction organizations accounted for 25% of the total, carrying out work worth 56,867.4 billion soums, up 16.3%. Construction work carried out by households accounted for 19.5%, reaching 44,356.6 billion soums, with growth of 6.3%.

Among large construction organizations, the biggest volumes were recorded in Tashkent city at 17.2 trillion soums, Tashkent region at 4.1 trillion soums and Navoi region at 3 trillion soums.

Among small businesses and microfirms, Tashkent city led with 53,195.7 billion soums, followed by Ferghana region with 8,101.8 billion soums and Samarkand region with 7,496.3 billion soums.

Households recorded their largest construction volumes in Tashkent region at 5,854.2 billion soums, Bukhara region at 4,512.4 billion soums and Khorezm region at 4,136.9 billion soums.

The non-state sector accounted for 97.6% of total construction work, while the state sector accounted for 2.4%.
