Uzbekistan’s Services Market Reaches 802.5 Trillion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The volume of market services provided in Uzbekistan reached 802,461.9 billion soums at current prices in January-July 2026, increasing by 16.7% in real terms compared with the same period last year, the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
According to preliminary data from the committee, the volume of services amounted to 651,676.9 billion soums in January-July 2025, when it increased by 13.5% from the same period in 2024. The largest contributions to this year’s growth came from trade services, which rose by 15.2% and contributed 3.9 percentage points; financial services, up 24.5% with a 3.6 percentage-point contribution; accommodation and food services, up 15% with a 2.8 percentage-point contribution; and transport services, which grew 14.3% and contributed 2.3 percentage points.
Tashkent accounted for 41.4% of the country’s total market services in January-July 2026, with a volume of 332,240.5 billion soums and a real growth rate of 117.4%. Among the regions, the largest volumes were recorded in Samarkand region at 56,487.5 billion soums, or 7% of the national total; Tashkent region at 53,785.5 billion soums, or 6.7%; and Ferghana region at 52,295.3 billion soums, or 6.5%. Excluding the capital, the highest real growth rates were recorded in Syrdarya region at 118.7% and Navoi region at 118.5%.
Market services per capita amounted to 20,909.4 thousand soums nationwide, compared with 17,285.2 thousand soums a year earlier, representing a real growth rate of 114.6%. Tashkent recorded the highest per-capita figure at 103,981.1 thousand soums, which was 18,737.7 thousand soums higher than in January-July 2025. The lowest figure was recorded in Surkhandarya region at 8,267.1 thousand soums.
Market services provided by small businesses reached 451,972.6 billion soums during the reporting period, accounting for 56.3% of the total, with a real growth rate of 117.9%. The largest shares of small businesses in the services market were recorded in Ferghana region at 76.2% and Andijan region at 74.9%. In Tashkent, despite the relatively low share of small businesses at 41.9%, the sector provided the largest volume of services in the country, at 139,236.5 billion soums.
Trade services accounted for 25.2% of the market services structure by economic activity, followed by accommodation and food services at 18.7%, financial services at 15.7%, transport services at 15.1%, communication and information technology services at 7.7%, and education services at 3.4%.
Trade services increased by 35,065.9 billion soums at current prices in January-July 2026, reaching 202,007.3 billion soums. Retail trade services accounted for the largest share, at 41.4%. Accommodation and food services increased by 29,478.2 billion soums to 149,719.2 billion soums, of which 96.6% was generated by food and beverage services.
Transport services amounted to 121,451.6 billion soums, with road transport services accounting for 52.4%, or 63,691.9 billion soums.
Financial services increased by 30,596.1 billion soums to 125,805.6 billion soums, with a growth rate of 124.5%. Communication and information technology services reached 61,647 billion soums, with computer programming accounting for the largest share at 48.5%.
Education services amounted to 27,241.3 billion soums, with higher education services accounting for 41.2%. Healthcare services reached 13,865.1 billion soums.
The National Statistics Committee said the data are preliminary and may be revised in subsequent publications. Beginning with the January-March 2026 data, the methodology for calculating trade service volumes was amended to account for changes in inventories of goods intended for resale, in line with recommendations from international experts.
