Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metro will shorten train intervals on all lines during peak hours from the start of the new academic year. The measures are linked to an expected increase in passenger traffic after educational institutions resume classes, the Tashkent Metro press service said.

From the new academic year, first-shift classes at all universities in Tashkent will begin at 08:00. The metro is therefore preparing for a higher load on public transport during the morning and evening peak hours.

On the Chilanzar Line, trains will run at intervals of 1.5–2 minutes, while intervals on the Uzbekistan Line will be reduced to up to three minutes. On the Yunusabad Line, trains will run at intervals of up to four minutes, while the elevated Ring Line will have intervals of 7–8 minutes.

The metro is also taking measures to prepare for increased passenger traffic and ensure convenient, safe and high-quality service during the new academic year.

In addition, Tashkent Metro’s fleet is expected to receive 14 modern trainsets during 2026. Eleven trains have already been delivered to Uzbekistan, while three more trainsets are expected in the coming days.
