Uzbekistan natural gas output drops 15% in Jan–Jul 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Natural gas production in Uzbekistan totaled 21.6 billion cubic meters in January–July 2026, falling by 15.0% compared to 25.4 billion cubic meters recorded during the same period in 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the agency, crude oil extraction for the reporting period reached 368,700 tonnes compared to 378,800 tonnes in January–July 2025, marking a decline of 2.7%.

Gas condensate production also declined by 15.1% to 567,500 tonnes, down from 667,900 tonnes a year earlier.

Coal output in January–July 2026 stood at 3.5 million tonnes, representing a 12.5% decrease compared to 4.0 million tonnes in the corresponding period of last year.

In contrast to the drop in raw material extraction, the production of petroleum products increased. Output of diesel fuel grew by 1.4% to 683,400 tonnes compared to 673,700 tonnes in January–July 2025.

Motor gasoline production totaled 731,900 tonnes, an 8.9% increase over the 672,100 tonnes produced a year earlier.

Automotive engine manufacturing during the reporting period reached 137,600 units compared to 131,800 units a year earlier, representing a 4.4% increase.
