Tomsk Region, Bukhara Discuss Joint Economic Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A working meeting addressing prospective cooperation with Uzbekistan took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tomsk Region on 27 August 2026, according to the Tomsk Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Participants examined the expansion of trade, economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, alongside potential joint projects. The meeting featured Khamro Choriev, representing trade union organizations from Bukhara, and Alexey Stukanov, Head of the Department of International and Regional Relations of the Government of Tomsk Region. Stukanov noted the Russian region's interest in deepening engagement with Uzbekistan.

During the talks, Choriev presented the infrastructure and investment opportunities of the Bukhara Special Industrial Park, inviting Tomsk enterprises to consider establishing manufacturing facilities on its territory.

The delegations identified the organization of outbound business missions for Tomsk-based enterprises as a key avenue for collaboration to help establish direct business contacts between the two regions.

Additionally, attendees discussed potential cooperation with the Abu Ali Ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute, as well as partnership opportunities with Uzbek fabric manufacturers to supply raw materials for light industry enterprises in Tomsk.

Following the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to develop specific joint projects and expand regional business links between Tomsk Region and Bukhara.
