Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 24.4 hectares of land is available for new investment projects at the Nukus Technopark Special Industrial Zone in Karakalpakstan, with the potential to accommodate more than 10 projects and create an additional 1,000 jobs, according to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The industrial zone covers 30 hectares, of which 28.4 hectares are suitable for use.

Two investment projects worth a combined 10.6 billion soums are currently being implemented within the zone. Each project has been allocated 2 hectares, bringing the total area occupied by the two projects to 4 hectares.

The projects involve industrial production and are expected to create 40 jobs, with 20 positions at each enterprise.

According to the ministry, vacant land accounts for 81.3% of the industrial zone's total area, while projects currently under implementation occupy 13.3%.

The remaining 1.6 hectares, representing 5.4% of the zone, have been allocated for infrastructure and other purposes.

The ministry said measures have been planned to ensure the efficient use of available land, attract new investors to the vacant sites and bring the two ongoing investment projects into operation on schedule.
