Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Copper Processing Plant-3 (MOF-3) of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AGMK) processed 10 million tonnes of ore between 16 March and 4 November 2026.

During the same period, more than 160,000 tonnes of copper concentrate were delivered to the copper smelter, AGMK’s information service reported.

The plant’s management reported the production milestone to AGMK Chairman of the Board Abdulla Khursanov.

The achievement marks the first major production milestone for the new facility since its launch and represents an important stage in bringing its production capacity online.

MOF-3 began operations on 16 March 2026. On that day, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pressed the symbolic launch button. The plant is one of the key facilities in the development project for the Yoshlik-1 deposit.

The plant has a designed processing capacity of 60 million tonnes of ore per year. Once it reaches full capacity, it is expected to produce around 900,000 tonnes of copper concentrate annually.

Ore processing volumes have increased gradually. The plant processed 661,500 tonnes in March, 1,161,805 tonnes in June and more than 1.6 million tonnes in October. October’s volume was therefore almost 2.5 times higher than in March.

The plant is equipped with 12 mills, 10 of which have already been commissioned. Commissioning work and testing are continuing on the remaining two, which are expected to be brought into operation in the near future.

The processing of 10 million tonnes of ore is an interim milestone as the facility continues to ramp up operations. Its next priorities include gradually reaching designed capacity, stabilising production processes and ensuring the required quality of copper concentrate.
