Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Türkiye have signed a series of bilateral agreements aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation and strengthening their long-term partnership. The documents were signed following talks between Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

The two presidents signed an agreement establishing a High-Level Council for Business Support. The new body is intended to promote business ties between the two countries.

The sides also signed a package of documents covering several areas of bilateral cooperation.

These include a protocol expanding the list of goods covered by the preferential trade agreement, as well as an intergovernmental agreement on social security and an administrative agreement governing its implementation.

Another document was an additional protocol amending the protocol of 29 March 2022 on the advance exchange of information concerning the movement of goods and vehicles across state borders.

The agreements are intended to further expand trade and economic ties, create more favourable conditions for businesses and ensure effective protection of the social rights of citizens of Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
