Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airports and Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines are discussing the possibility of launching regular flights from Istanbul to Karshi and Nukus, potentially establishing the first scheduled air connections between the Turkish city and the two Uzbek destinations.
The discussions come as Uzbekistan Airports and Pegasus Airlines expand their cooperation. The two sides previously agreed to introduce scheduled flights from Istanbul to Bukhara, Andijan and Termez.
The three agreed routes are scheduled to launch in stages. The first flight to Bukhara is planned for 14 December 2026, followed by services to Andijan on 18 December 2026 and Termez on 1 March 2027.
All flights will operate from Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, with Airbus A320/A321 family aircraft expected to serve the three routes.
For Andijan, the new service will establish the city's first regular air connection with Istanbul.
In Bukhara and Termez, which already receive flights from the Turkish metropolis, the arrival of Pegasus Airlines will expand travel options for passengers.
The potential launch of services to Karshi and Nukus would further expand Pegasus Airlines' network in Uzbekistan. However, no launch dates have been announced for either proposed route.
The new connections would also allow passengers from Uzbekistan's regions to use Sabiha Gokcen Airport as a transfer hub for Pegasus Airlines flights to Europe, the Middle East and other destinations across the carrier's network.
Pegasus Airlines was founded in 1990 and has operated under a low-cost business model since 2005.
Its main operating base is Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.
According to the information provided, the airline operates a fleet of 129 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and serves approximately 160 destinations in more than 50 countries.
