Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Work has begun on a project to create a new park with an artificial lake and modern recreational facilities in Tashkent’s Almazar district.
According to the district administration, the public space will be developed on Keles Yuli Street, between the Small Ring Road and Karakamish Street.
Under the project, the artificial lake will cover 5,017 square metres, have a depth of 2 metres and hold a total of 10,000 cubic metres of water.
The park will also feature a total of 2 km of walking and cycling paths. In addition, 200 new trees are planned to be planted.
The district administration said existing mature trees would remain in place during construction and landscaping. Some smaller trees are to be transplanted to other suitable locations under specialist supervision.
The project aims to improve the area and the local environment. Once completed, the park is expected to provide a recreational space for residents and visitors to the district.
The administration has not specified a completion date.
