Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will reduce the required monthly advance payment for electricity and natural gas consumption to 15 percent for eligible business entities starting 1 November 2026, according to UzDaily.uz.

The change was introduced under a presidential decree signed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev to implement measures outlined during his sixth open dialogue with entrepreneurs.

The revised prepayment rule will apply to commercial enterprises connected to the Automated System for Commercial Metering of Electricity (ASKUE) and the Automated System for Commercial Metering of Natural Gas (ASKUG), provided their metering devices feature remote disconnection and reconnection capabilities. Consumers that failed to maintain payment discipline over the preceding two months will be excluded from the program.

In addition to lowering advance payment requirements, the decree eliminates the obligation for businesses to submit written electricity and gas consumption reports to regional utility suppliers.

The decree also reforms utility contracting procedures by abolishing paper-based electricity and gas supply agreements in favor of electronic contracts.
