Uzbekistan and Iran discuss cultural and tourism ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloev met with Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Seyed Reza Salehi-Amiri in Tehran on 18 August 2026, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The two officials reviewed the current state and prospects for developing cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
During the talks, representatives of both nations exchanged views on preserving and promoting the shared historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and Iran. Special attention was devoted to expanding tourism exchanges and strengthening collaboration between relevant institutions in both countries.
The sides also discussed the implementation of joint cultural and tourism projects, expressing mutual interest in broadening practical cooperation. Following the meeting, representatives from Uzbekistan and Iran agreed to step up direct contacts between their respective government agencies.
