Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology held a meeting with officials from Japanese corporations ITOCHU and JOGMEC, as well as Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), according to the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan. The discussions were led by First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Feruza Hamidova.

During the talks, the Japanese delegation highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan and expressed interest in further developing bilateral cooperation in geology and the mining and metallurgical industries.

Uzbek officials confirmed their readiness to involve ITOCHU, JOGMEC, and other Japanese companies in developing promising mineral sites across the country. The sides also discussed attracting Japanese investment into mining projects, with the Uzbek ministry expressing readiness to provide support to prospective Japanese investors.

Following the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to expanding practical cooperation across the geological and mining sectors.
