Uzbekistan wins Asian Under-15 Greco-Roman wrestling title

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Asian Wrestling Championship for athletes under 15 and under 20 has officially started in the Thai city of Pattaya.

The representatives of the Greco-Roman wrestling team in the younger age group (U15) were the first to complete their bouts for continental championship medals.

Following the matches, the youth national team of Uzbekistan achieved an outstanding result, winning a total of eight medals of various values and confidently taking first place in the final team standings of the tournament.

The Uzbek team secured three gold medals. Abubakar Kurbonov won the top spot on the podium in the weight category up to 38 kilograms, Makhmudjon Akhmedov won in the up to 41 kilograms category, and Bobur Sayfulloev claimed gold in the up to 44 kilograms weight class.

Ruslan Ovezmuratov won a silver medal in the continental championship after a tough struggle in the weight category up to 68 kilograms. In addition, four more Uzbek wrestlers won bronze medals at the championship.

Mirislom Gofurov stepped onto the third tier of the podium in Pattaya in the weight category up to 48 kilograms, Abdulaziz Khotamov in the up to 52 kilograms weight class, Bekhruz Abdupattoev in the up to 62 kilograms category, and Temur Uralov, who competed in the heavy weight category up to 85 kilograms.

The competitions in Thailand are continuing with bouts in other age and style categories.
