Jasurbek Jaysunov Nominated for OCA Athletes’ Commission
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Jasurbek Jaysunov, a member of Uzbekistan’s taekwondo WT national team and a medalist at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, has been nominated as a candidate for the Athletes’ Commission of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Uzbekistan’s National Olympic Committee said.
The Olympic Council of Asia has published the list of candidates for the upcoming commission elections. Jaysunov is representing the Central Asian region.
In addition to the Uzbek athlete, Kazakhstan’s Amir Maimuratov, a sport climber who competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Iran’s Arian Salimi, the 2024 Olympic taekwondo champion, are also running for a seat on the commission.
Voting will take place from 20 September to 2 October 2026 during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
Only athletes participating in the Asian Games will be eligible to vote.
