Uzbekistan to Restrict Advertising Calls and SMS Messages
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's president has signed a resolution introducing new requirements for the distribution of advertising calls and SMS messages.
Under the document, from 1 November 2026, legal entities and individuals will be allowed to send advertising SMS messages only after obtaining the recipient's written or electronic consent.
The resolution also provides that companies offering advertising call and SMS distribution services will be permitted to operate only after registering their information systems in the State Register of Personal Data Databases.
In addition, advertising calls and SMS messages via mobile networks will be prohibited between 18:00 and 09:00. Mobile network operators will be required, at a subscriber's request, to fully or partially block advertising calls and messages.
The document states that failure to comply with the new requirements will be treated as a violation of legislation on advertising and personal data and will result in the application of penalties предусмотренных законодательством.
