Indonesian parliamentary delegation visits Bukhara, Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Indonesia, led by the Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani, visited the historical, cultural, and holy sites of Bukhara and Samarkand as part of an official visit to Uzbekistan.

In Bukhara, the guests toured the Bahauddin Naqshband Memorial Complex, the Poi Kalyan architectural ensemble, the Lyabi-Khauz ensemble, and the traditional trading domes. The delegation was briefed on the history of these monuments, the ongoing preservation and restoration efforts, and the development of national craftsmanship.

Ahmad Muzani praised the preservation of Bukhara's historical and cultural heritage, noting the city's significant contribution to the development of world civilization.

During their visit to Samarkand, the Indonesian delegation also explored the city's historical and cultural heritage sites.

The guests gave a positive assessment of the initiatives aimed at preserving monuments, popularizing national heritage, and developing the tourism sector.

Furthermore, the delegation visited the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, where they learned about its operations and met with religious figures from the Samarkand region.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of spiritual and educational cooperation alongside the promotion of tolerance ideas.
