Visa expands access to Visa Pay via new SDK
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Visa has expanded access to its Visa Pay payment solution for new issuers in Central Asia and Africa by introducing a software development kit (SDK).
The new tool will allow banks, mobile money operators, and fintech companies to integrate Visa Pay directly into their existing mobile applications, enabling them to launch virtual cards and digital payment services more quickly.
Visa Pay serves as a secure and interoperable tool that allows both bank account holders and unbanked consumers to make payments, receive funds, and transfer money across banks, fintech companies, and mobile operators.
According to the company, the SDK includes integrated issuer processing tools, a customer user interface, tokenization support, as well as certified security and regulatory compliance components. This is designed to simplify and accelerate the deployment of Visa Pay, particularly in markets where infrastructure constraints slow down the development of digital financial services.
Currently, the Visa Pay SDK is being deployed by issuers across several countries in Central Asia and Africa. Partners include banks, mobile money operators, fintech companies, and licensed payment service providers.
The solution supports various payment use cases, including e-commerce, international remittances, virtual cards linked to mobile wallets, virtual card issuance, humanitarian disbursements, and technological processing support.
Looking ahead, the functionality of Visa Pay is scheduled to expand. Specifically, the company intends to introduce a Tap to Pay feature, which will allow users to make contactless payments by tapping their mobile phone against a compatible terminal.
"Visa Pay is designed to help issuers meet a wide range of market needs, from secure e-commerce and remittances to mobile money-linked virtual cards, humanitarian disbursements, person-to-person payments and future contactless experiences," said Godfrey Sullivan, Senior Vice President and Head of Products and Solutions for Visa in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
According to him, embedding these capabilities directly into existing mobile applications will allow financial organizations to bring modern digital payment experiences to consumers faster, while unlocking new opportunities for domestic and cross-border settlements.
