Uzbekistan and Türkiye Coordinate Draft Pension Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The second round of bilateral negotiations dedicated to the regulation of pension and social rights of citizens of Uzbekistan and Türkiye has successfully concluded in the Republic of Türkiye.

From 22 to 26 June 2026, working meetings were held by representatives of the Extra-Budgetary Pension Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye, and the Social Security Institution of Türkiye. This stage became a direct continuation of the first round of interstate consultations, which took place in April of the current year in Tashkent.

The main outcome of the multilateral discussions was the full coordination of the texts of the draft Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on Pension and Social Security.

In addition, the experts thoroughly developed and approved an accompanying draft Administrative Agreement, which regulates the direct mechanisms and step-by-step algorithms for the practical implementation of the main document.

The key objective of the agreement being prepared for signing is to create a reliable legal framework for guaranteeing and protecting the social and pension rights of citizens of both countries who officially carry out or have carried out labor activities on the territory of the partner state.

Upon completion of the official program of meetings, the heads of the delegations sealed the reached understandings with signatures under the final Protocol of the negotiations. The approved documents form the necessary legal foundation for the subsequent preparation of the intergovernmental agreement for signing at the highest state level.

It is expected that the launch of the new mechanisms will allow elevating the strategic Uzbek-Turkish partnership in the sphere of public social protection and labor migration to a qualitatively new level.
