Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan national football team has concluded its performance at the 2026 World Cup. In their final group-stage match, Uzbekistan suffered a 1-3 defeat against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the concluding round of fixtures for Group K.

The Uzbek team opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Team captain Eldor Shomurodov received a pass from Akmal Mozgovoy and lobbed the ball over the African side's goalkeeper.

Their opponents equalized in the second half when DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa successfully converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute. Ten minutes later, Fiston Mayele put the Congolese ahead, and in stoppage time, at the 90+1 minute mark, Wissa scored his second goal of the match to complete a brace.

In the other group match, Colombia and Portugal played to a scoreless draw in regular time. Following the conclusion of all group-stage matches, Uzbekistan finished in last place in Group K.

The Uzbek players completed the round-robin stage with zero points and a final goal difference of 2-11.

Colombia, Portugal, and DR Congo advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
