Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan Football Association held a meeting involving its leadership, national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro and coaches of men's and women's teams across various age groups. Participants reviewed the work carried out in 2026 and identified key priorities for 2027.

The meeting was attended by coaches of the U-23, U-20, U-18, U-17, U-16, U-15 and U-14 national teams. Association officials recognised the teams' achievements, analysed mistakes and shortcomings, and provided recommendations on how to address them.

The head coaches presented reports on their work, sporting results and plans for the coming year.

Particular attention was paid to players' physical, tactical and psychological preparation, as well as the organisation of training ahead of international competitions.

Participants discussed the need to strengthen individual training for forwards and goalkeepers. Drawing on his international experience, Fabio Cannavaro also shared recommendations with coaches of the youth and junior national teams.

One of the key priorities for 2027 is hosting the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan, scheduled for May. The association intends to ensure the tournament is organised to a high standard and prepare the national team for a strong performance.

The meeting also addressed preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which Uzbekistan is scheduled to host in September–October 2027.

According to the association, the necessary conditions will be put in place both to organise these competitions and to support the participation of the national teams.

Following the meeting, specific tasks were assigned to all teams. Priorities include improving results in international tournaments, developing a pool of future players and strengthening the competitiveness of Uzbek football.
