Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Several violations of regulations governing the transportation of children have been identified in Navoi Region. In particular, Damas vehicles were used to carry more passengers than permitted.
In one incident, 22 children were found inside a vehicle, although the initial description had reported 33.
One of the cases was recorded in Khatyrchi district. A Damas vehicle belonging to a private preschool education institution was transporting children from their homes to the kindergarten.
According to the driver, traffic police officers stopped the vehicle and found 22 children inside during an inspection.
Another incident involved a woman who identified herself as a kindergarten director and her driver. They had previously been issued a violation report for a similar offence and had given a written undertaking not to repeat it.
However, during a subsequent inspection, 14 children were found in the Damas vehicle. According to the authors of the video footage, the woman attempted to avoid having another violation report issued.
Another case identified in the region involved two children, approximately four to five years old, being transported in the front passenger seat of a car.
The report also recalled a road accident that occurred in Navoi Region on 5 May 2026. A Matiz driver transporting 14 children was involved in a crash and died. The children were injured and taken to hospital.
Despite ongoing awareness campaigns and warnings, violations of regulations governing the transportation of minors continue to be reported.
The report stressed that exceeding permitted passenger limits and failing to comply with safety requirements endanger children's lives and health, particularly in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
