Neftgazmontaj Appoints New Director After Internal Review

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Neftgazmontaj, a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz, has appointed Bakhtiyor Khusanov as its new director following a review of the company's operations.

The decision was made after an analysis identified production, financial and management problems within the enterprise.

The meeting to review the company's performance was chaired by Fazil Makhmudov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz.

According to the company, Neftgazmontaj signed contracts worth more than 2 trillion soums in 2026. However, only 27% of the planned construction work had been completed in the first half of the year. Of 220 projects, only 10 have been completed.

The discussion also noted that delays of several months in salary payments had adversely affected staffing. In addition, repairs to specialized machinery and vehicles were found to be unsatisfactory despite the allocation of funding.

A comprehensive review identified cases in which certain officials failed to comply with legal requirements and financial discipline. According to the company, this resulted in inefficient spending, shortages and a deterioration in the company's financial position.

The review also criticized the inefficient use of assets, idle production facilities, and out-of-service machinery and equipment. Uzbekneftegaz management also called for stronger oversight of compliance with public procurement legislation and more transparent procurement procedures.

The company said the previous management had earlier been given a three-month probationary period to improve financial performance and strengthen the management system. As the assigned targets were not fully achieved, the former director stepped down at his own request.

The new director has been tasked with improving the company's financial position, increasing production efficiency, ensuring more effective use of assets, improving transparency in public procurement, strengthening corporate governance, and restoring Neftgazmontaj to stable and efficient operations as quickly as possible.
