Uzbekistan to Host International Tourism Marathon

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to host an international running marathon titled “In the Footsteps of Iskandar Zulkarnain,” aimed at promoting the country’s tourism and sports potential.

The route will pass through the Samarkand region and the Navoi region. The event is scheduled to start on April 25, will last seven days, and cover a total distance of 200 to 250 kilometers.

Participants will run through the Koshrobod district of Samarkand region, as well as the Nurata and Kanimekh districts of Navoi region.

Along the route, participants and guests will be able to explore historical and cultural heritage sites, sacred places, and unique natural landscapes.

The event is designed to develop tourism routes, promote eco-tourism, encourage healthy lifestyles, and attract young people to sports.

It is also expected to increase international interest in Uzbekistan’s tourism and sports sector and strengthen the country’s global image.
