Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will extend the deadlines for applying for partial rent compensation for students who have not been provided with places in university dormitories.
The deadline for making payments for September will also be extended, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation said in response to reports circulating on social media about restrictions on the submission of such applications.
Under the current procedure, students at state higher education institutions who are not provided with places in dormitories are entitled to compensation for part of their housing rental expenses. The compensation applies to housing occupied under a rental agreement.
The ministry said the decision to extend the deadlines was made in response to appeals received from students.
The new deadlines for submitting applications and making September payments will be officially announced in the near future.
The ministry stressed that additional information on the procedure and deadlines will be communicated to students after the official announcement.
