Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a new overpass connecting two sections of Baburshoh Street in Andijan. The structure directly links the two parts of the city, helps ease traffic flows and eliminates the need for a detour.
The 271 billion soum project was implemented on the instructions of the head of state issued during his previous visit to Andijan Region.
The overpass has a total length of 796 meters and a width of 25.9 meters. The elevated section is 596 meters long, while another 200 meters consist of a road section with retaining walls.
The new facility is primarily intended to facilitate travel for residents. The overpass will allow about 140,000 people in Andijan and Altynkul district to avoid an additional 5.3-kilometer route.
For emergency service vehicles, the route has been shortened from 15 km to 9.3 km. Eliminating the detour and waiting at the railway crossing will reduce travel time by 17 minutes.
The reduction in travel time is particularly important for emergency medical services. Patients can now be transported to the Emergency Medical Care Center up to 14 minutes faster.
