Uzbekistan, Sweden Boost Export Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation from the Swedish National Board of Trade (Kommerskollegium), including Deputy Director of the Trade and Development Department Sarah Sandelius and Project Manager Jenny Ickelberg.
During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, with a particular focus on increasing exports of Uzbek products to Sweden and the European Union. Both parties emphasized mutual interest in boosting trade turnover and creating additional opportunities for Uzbek exporters.
The Swedish side expressed strong interest in importing food products and textiles from Uzbekistan. At the same time, compliance with established quality standards and technical requirements was highlighted as a key condition for entering European markets.
Following the meeting, the parties reached agreements to intensify cooperation under the Open Trade Gate Sweden program, organize training events for Uzbek companies, and provide advisory support on certification and adaptation of products to EU market requirements.
Both sides confirmed their intention to develop practical cooperation, facilitate export contracts, and strengthen long-term business partnerships between the two countries.
