Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Farg'ona Agro Star agro-complex for processing dried apricots is being constructed in the Ferghana district of the Ferghana region.

The project, valued at 50 billion soums, provides for processing up to 10,000 tonnes of apricots annually and creating more than 200 jobs, the press service of the Ferghana region khokimiyat reported.

Construction of the complex is underway in the village of Chimyon, where apricot cultivation is a primary occupation of the local population. Dried apricot products produced in Chimyon and the village of Mindon are in demand both on the domestic market and abroad.

On 13 August, Ferghana region khokim Khayrullo Bozorov inspected the progress of the agro-complex construction.

The project provides for processing locally grown apricots and dried apricot products using modern technologies. Within the complex, plans call for expanding the range of finished products, increasing added value, and boosting the region's export potential.

The launch of the Farg'ona Agro Star agro-complex is scheduled for October 2026.

Following his review of the construction progress, the regional khokim instructed responsible officials to ensure high-quality execution of the work and complete the project on schedule.
