Tashkent Metro to Reopen Escalator at Pakhtakor Station Early

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metro will return Escalator No. 3 to service on 5 August 2026 in the transfer passage between the Alisher Navoi and Pakhtakor stations.

Repair work was completed ahead of schedule, the company's press service reported.

The ET-5M type escalator was previously closed for repairs from 21 July 2026 to 17 August 2026 to replace drive chains. The work was carried out to enhance passenger safety and service quality.

During the repairs, specialists completely replaced the drive chains on Escalator No. 3. Following the completion of all necessary tasks, the facility was prepared for the resumption of operations.

Tashkent Metro noted that from 5 August 2026, the escalator will again be available to passengers.

The enterprise emphasized that it will continue conducting necessary work to ensure safe and high-quality service for passengers.
