Tashkent Demolishes Illegal Structures in Chilanzar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Khokimiyat of Tashkent's Chilanzar district has begun demolishing unauthorized structures and commercial facilities along Katartal Street as part of efforts to landscape the area and create a safe urban environment.

According to the district administration, illegally erected buildings and light-structure commercial outlets built without the required permits are being dismantled from road shoulders and sidewalks.

In particular, clearing operations have commenced near the Katartal Market, a branch of the Chilonzor Dehqon Bozori. The khokimiyat noted that the illegal structures had almost completely occupied the pedestrian zone, obstructing safe movement for residents. The sidewalk will be fully cleared once work is completed.

In addition, the Nomdor cafe is being demolished pursuant to a court ruling. The administration stated that the facility was built without necessary permits. After receiving a warning, the entrepreneur failed to cease operations, prompting the khokimiyat to file a lawsuit. The court declared the structure illegal and ordered its dismantling.

Authorities stated that the cafe owner was offered the opportunity to continue business activities at another location in compliance with the law. The khokimiyat also promised to assist with employment for workers who may lose their jobs following the establishment's closure.

The district administration urged entrepreneurs to initiate construction only after obtaining all required permits, emphasizing that illegal structures will be removed through judicial proceedings.
