Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan Discuss China Railway Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The transport ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will visit construction sites of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway in Kyrgyzstan on 28–29 July 2026 to review progress and discuss project implementation.
Kyrgyz Minister of Transport and Communications Talantbek Soltobayev welcomed Uzbek Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov at the Manas railway station in the city of Manas on 28 July 2026.
During the visit, the ministers will inspect key construction sections of the railway line and assess the pace of execution.
Special attention will be directed toward the construction of tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure facilities.
The two sides will also discuss upcoming tasks and key operational issues, as well as exchange views on ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of construction work.
The China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway is viewed as a strategically vital project to enhance transport connectivity among the three nations, expand Kyrgyzstan's transit potential, and establish a new international transport corridor.
