Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice has studied Dubai’s use of smart technologies for public safety and urban infrastructure management. Following the visit, proposals are expected to be prepared for launching a pilot project in Tashkent.
The working group was in the United Arab Emirates from 3 to 6 November. It was led by B. Yusupov, director of the Adolat National Legal Information Centre under the Ministry of Justice.
During the visit, Uzbek specialists examined the Smart Police concept, which involves using digital solutions to maintain public order and provide early warnings of offences, as well as Dubai’s intelligent management system.
In particular, the delegation visited Dubai Smart Police Station (SPS) facilities, which provide round-the-clock services to citizens without direct staff involvement. The group also studied the operating principles of the Command and Control Center, a centralised public safety management system.
Participants were also introduced to Smart City solutions, including artificial intelligence, biometric identification, video analytics and cybersecurity technologies used to manage urban infrastructure.
The visit was organised as part of the implementation of Presidential Resolution No. PP-1. It aims to explore the possibility of establishing a modern mahalla public safety centre in Tashkent’s Yashnabad district.
Based on the experience gained, practical proposals are expected to be developed for a pilot project under the Safe City concept. These will include technical specifications, a roadmap and recommendations for introducing modern digital solutions in Uzbekistan.
The announcement does not specify which technologies will be included in the pilot project or when its implementation is expected to begin.
